Our story: for Ralphie, for every child

Team Ralphie Ray was born from our son’s story — and a promise to make sure no family feels alone. Join us as we share our journey and mission.

When you finish Ralphie’s story 💙

We want you to leave this page with understanding, hope and a reason to care. We want you to understand that behind every diagnosis is a real child, a family and a journey that can be incredibly difficult.

We want you to see Ralphie as more than his PVL — he is a little boy, a fighter, a son and a reason for us to keep pushing for change. Most importantly, we want you to understand that families living with disability and complex needs are not alone. Sometimes the strongest-looking parents are fighting battles nobody can see.

If Ralphie’s story has taught you anything, please share it. You could help another family feel understood, or introduce someone to PVL before they ever have to face it themselves.

Don’t just remember Ralphie’s story. Help us carry it forward.

💙 For Ralphie. For every child. Until everybody knows.

Why awareness matters 💙

Ralphie’s diagnosis changed our lives. Hearing Periventricular Leukomalacia (PVL) for the first time was frightening because we had never heard of it.

The hospital battles, uncertainty about his future and the challenges we face behind closed doors showed us just how important awareness really is.

We don’t want another family to hear the word PVL for the first time when their world is already falling apart.

That’s why we’re turning our pain into purpose — raising awareness, climbing Snowdon and bringing communities together.

We don’t want people to know about PVL because tragedy introduced it to their family. We want them to know because awareness got there first.

💙 Awareness before tragedy. Support before isolation.

One simple ask 💙

Please don’t just read Ralphie’s story — help us carry it forward.

Share what you’ve learned about PVL. Talk about it. Tell someone who may never have heard of it.

We want people to leave this page understanding that behind every diagnosis is a child, a family and a story.

If Ralphie’s story makes you feel something, turn that feeling into action.

Share. Speak up. Raise awareness. Give every child a voice.

Because you never know who might need to hear about PVL tomorrow.

💙 Awareness before tragedy. For Ralphie. For every child. Until everybody knows.

"Our two-year-old son, Ralphie Ray, lives with PVL, a life-changing brain injury. When we first heard the diagnosis, we had never heard of it. Now, we’re determined to change that."
